K2G Night - K2G Fund’s First in-person event in Seoul, Korea

K2G Fund was officially launched on April 1st 2022 and the Fund’s first in-person event ‘K2G-Night’ took place on June 17, 2022 in Seoul, Korea. Distinguished serial entrepreneurs, opinion leaders and top industry executives attended the invite-only event. The K2G Fund team presented the Fund’s strategy - ‘Why Korea now’, and ‘Why Korea to Global now’ to the audience, and led a networking session for attendees to meet and share ideas.

First, Archi Kong, the Fund’s founding managing partner, had a brief session to share his point of view on the macro level fluctuations as well as the key strategy for pursuing ‘Korea 2 Global’ in the market.

Then, Brian Koo, the Fund’s founding general partner, shared his ‘Korea 2 Global’ journey and why it matters from his perspective based on his 15+ years experiences in Silicon Valley. 

Ken Kim, K2G’s founding general partner also shared his 6-time startup experience, including the most recent company Kong, in Silicon Valley for over 40+ years and also shared the two Italian co-founders’ unicorn startup story(‘a.k.a Italy 2 Global’) at Kong and finished his session with the key question; why not Korea?!

Next, Dr. Jihoon Jeong, K2G’s founding general partner, gave a brief lecture on the history of the Korean startup ecosystem and proposed the next generation VC model, based on his 12+ years of hands-on experiences as a seed investor, a startup advisor and an IT futurist.  

Next, Brian Pak, CEO at Theori shared his experiences on how Theori met with the K2G team, the story behind how Theori changed its lead investor to K2G, and his experience with working with K2G.

For the networking session, the K2G team would like to specially thank Hana bank PB Center for providing a spectacular venue as well as to Chairman Il Joo Kim at Drinks International for providing exceptional champagne for the event.

K2G plans to hold the second K2G Night event in Silicon Valley on September 16th 2022 to proclaim the Fund’s ‘Korea 2 Global’ strategy.
